Italian Conference on Optics and Photonics (ICOP), 17-19 June, 2024, Florence, Italy

ICOP 2024 | SIOF

Researchers of SLAM-DAST project attended the 2024 edition of the Italian Conference on Optics and Photonics (ICOP 2024) in Potsdam, Germany, from the 17th to the 19th of June 2024. The authors presented two poster presentations on their works carried out within SLAM-DAST project on distributed acoustic sensing and on the effect of error propagation in the shape reconstruction of distributed shape sensing.

The Italian Conference on Optics and Photonics aims to bring together researchers from all over Italy and worldwide, networking and exchanging their research developments in the field of Optics and Photonics, in a stimulating and multidisciplinary forum. The Conference established itself as a high-level meeting in the areas of Nano and Quantum Sciences, Optical Communication Systems, Optical Imaging and Sensing, Laser and Nonlinear Optics, Applications of Photonic Technology and new Emerging Topics, featuring invited lectures, oral and poster sessions and workshops.

European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (EWSHM), 10-13 June, 2024, Potsdam, Germany

Researchers of SLAM-DAST project attended the 11th edition of the European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (EWSHM 2024) in Potsdam, Germany, from the 10th to the 13th of June 2024. The authors presented an oral presentations on their works carried out within SLAM-DAST project on the application of distributed strain sensing for shape sensing and the characterization of its feasibility as a crack detector for composite carbon fiber specimens in terms of probability of detection.

The goal of EWSHM is to present the latest advances in the field of structural health monitoring (SHM), and includes plenary talks from leading experts in the field reporting about their field of expertise in SHM or their request for monitoring in applications such as transportation vehicles, machinery, manufacturing plants or buildings, as well as academic research and technology exhibitions.
